Stakeholder’s Consultation Workshop

The Stakeholder Consultation Workshop was held on 06/09/2024 at Cherpu Panchayat Hall from 10.00 AM to 3.00 PM. The primary objective of this workshop was to engage with key stakeholders and farmers to gather input and feedback on Chenam Agroecology Project. This report summarizes the discussions, key insights, and action plan from the workshop.

Objectives:

  • To present and discuss the reports of survey, soil health test etc. which was conducted as a part of the project.

  • To gather input and feedback from stakeholders.

  • To identify potential issues and opportunities.

  • To build consensus and support for the farmers. 

The stakeholder consultation workshop inaugurated by Agri expert, Usha Soolapani bring together farmers, experts, and stakeholders to discuss sustainable farming practices. The workshop aimed to engage key stakeholders and farmers keen on adopting agroecological methods, with notable attendees including Shefeena Sudhir, Padavu members, and experts like Usha Soolapani and P C Anoop Kumar . The workshop included presentations on survey reports, soil health testing, aquaculture possibilities, and biodiversity monitoring, followed by an open discussion and Q&A session facilitated by Anoop Kumar. The workshop covered critical topics such as preparing organic amendments, lime application schedules, crop calendars for organic farming, and aquaculture potential in Kole wetlands. CEO Dileep Kumar summarized the project’s future plans for 2024-2025, including soil testing, training, demonstrations, and exhibitions. This initiative promotes eco-friendly farming practices, benefiting farmers and the environment. By sharing knowledge and expertise, the project fosters a collaborative approach to sustainable agriculture, ensuring a brighter future for farming communities.
